International Scientific and Practical Conference “EXPERIMENTAL AND CLINICAL PHARMACOLOGY”
On October 23-23, 2024, the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology” dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Department of Pharmacology of the National University of Pharmacy was held in a remote format. The conference is registered by the Ukrainian Institute of Scientific and Technical Expertise and Information (certificate No. 611 dated December 11, 2023).
The conference presents research by more than 150 scientists from the National Academy of Medical Sciences and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, higher education institutions, research institutions and healthcare institutions of all regions of Ukraine, as well as Poland, Estonia, and the USA, which is a marker of the authority of Ukrainian pharmacological science in the world. The conference materials include about 100 works representing 13 areas: neuropharmacology; pharmacology of pain, inflammation, musculoskeletal system; pharmacology of visceral systems; pharmacology of the endocrine system and metabolism; pharmacology of the blood system, immuno- and oncopharmacology; pharmacology of antimicrobial agents; pharmacology of extreme conditions; modern aspects of drug development, biopharmaceutics; medicinal toxicology; pharmacological aspects of patient rehabilitation; clinical pharmacology and clinical pharmacy; market analysis, pharmacoepidemiological, pharmacoeconomic and pharmacovigilance aspects of drug use; teaching of pharmacology, clinical pharmacology, clinical pharmacy and other clinically oriented educational components.
The 100-year history of the Department of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacy was introduced to the conference participants by the Head – Dr. of Medical Sciences, Professor S.Yu. Shtrygol. The Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Dr. of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Professor V.A. Georgiyants spoke about the long-term creative cooperation with the Department of Pharmacology.
As part of the conference, a seminar “Current Issues in Preclinical Research, Clinical Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacy” was held in two parts (15 hours, or 0.5 credits), at which 28 reports were presented.
A feature of the conference was the participation of both authoritative scientists and students, postgraduates, and practicing physicians. About 100 people attended the meeting over the course of 2 days.
The conference aroused considerable interest among pharmacologists, clinicians, educators, and higher education students. Its participants unanimously adopted a resolution, which noted that the conference “Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology” became a notable milestone in the scientific and educational process.
